Portsmouth Historical Society
The Tiverton Historical Society is pleased to announce that we have formed a collaborative partnership with the Portsmouth Historical Society in order to hold joint events, support each other, and preserve the mutual history of our communities. Tiverton and Portsmouth share much in common with founders of Tiverton coming from Portsmouth and being the location of the major existing areas of the Battle of Rhode Island during the American Revolution. THS is pleased to announce this revolutionary partnership and look forward to future efforts. General Nathanael Greene Homestead
The Tiverton Historical Society is pleased to announce a working friendship with the General Nathanael Greene Homestead of Coventry, RI to seek ways to jointly preserve, promote, and protect the history of our communities, state, and nation. Rhode Island’s own General Greene was a famous General during the American Revolution and came to Tiverton, RI in 1778 to command troops for the Battle of Rhode Island.
